(January 30, 2019, 11:32 am)Prego_Toodlez Lol no, first of all I know my body well enough to know my exact dates for period and ovulation. Expected my period the 21st of the month, started noticing some light symptoms before the missed date, after a week no period decided to take test then just to confirm it. Took the first one a couple days ago, the the confirming second this morning. Both positive.

First, Congrats!

Second, that does make you slightly over 5 weeks pregnant. Weeks are calculated off of your previous period, not your ovulation date.

Deciding to use a different reference point than literally everyone else seems like an easy way to purposefully confuse people (like medical professionals who aren't looking at your file).

"I'm 38+3 weeks pregnant."

"So your due date is (11 days from now)?"

"No, it was 3 days ago."

"But you'll be 40 weeks in 11 days, so that's when your due date is."

"I know my body better than most women know theirs, so I'm measuring from the daydate ovulation."

"So you're being purposefully confusing?"

"Yes."

I love how Ob-GYN's use an Estimated Due Date (EDD) as the actual date, when they can be off by a couple of weeks plus or minus.
