A while back I was playing poker in a friend's garage when I looked up on the wall and saw a poster with different boob shapes and names associated to them...
My my buddy sitting next to me leans in and sais,
"I'm a 'knobs' guy... What one are you?"
Caught a little off guard by the question and more focused on my shitty straight draw possibility I just quickly looked up at the poster and whispered back,
"I'm a globes guy."
Naturally my perverted mind went straight to bellies and I thought, what options would be on a poster of preggo belly sizes???

So let's explore this with a little poll.  I have categorized bellies into 6 main groups with many sub-sets to follow. But what kind of belly person are you???

The Round

Round isn’t a shape it is a state of mind…

A round belly is whatever you want it to be. Most round bellies happen in shorter women. They are often plus sized before (or for sure during) pregnancy. Few bellies are as “round” as they are “tall” and those are amazing to behold, real life blueberries, but then there is just the round belly a perfect symmetrical belly.

Whatever your version of round is, it is beautiful even if it is a more common belly type.

“The Torpedo”

An iconic belly formation known to drive Preggophiles WILD.

The Torpedo can from as early as the second trimester and is often an indication of a breeched baby.
Torpedo’s get their name because they stick straight out and come to a very sharp point. Many times the belly button pokes out as well and often the are covered in stretch marks due the rapid growth of the belly and the frequent movements of the fetus.

*
“Bean Poles” and “Barrels” are sub sets of Torpedo’s and are much rarer.

“THE BARREL”

It gets it’s name from the Keg-Like appearance the belly forms towards the end of the 3rd trimester.

The Barrel is a hybrid between the “Torpedo” and the “Wide Load.” While the belly sticks out like the torpedo it does not come to the iconic point, rather it is more blunt.
Barrels can often be found in “belly shelf photos” as they have a flattened top.  A barrel bump is a rare one to find because so many of them turn into “hangers” since they come later in the pregnancy and many times the baby drops into birth position before it takes full effect.

*Barrels are most common in twin pregnancies.

"The Tear"

Tear drop bumps are some of the sexiest bellies out there in my opinion.

*I have tried to use mostly unposted/personal photos.
**But she is such a perfect example of a tear drop, I can hardly imagine using anyone else.

"THE EGG"

The Egg is a very subjective belly shape... It can even change shape as a woman rotates around.
I think the primary distinction between "The Egg" and "The Tear" is that the tear drop bellies hang lower and the egg is straight on.

*Barrels are often classified as eggs too which is why the are so subjective.

The Hanger

What goes up must come down...

Often times torpedoes turn into hangers. While that is a sad occasion, Hangers can happen in "Round" bellies and "Softies."

Some men find the hanger attractive but often times the fold doesn’t get cleaned very well (or much attention from the cocoa butter).  This means that Hangers "at the fold" are often sweaty and smell when you get down to lift it up and play with it. So buyer beware! It is still always fun to support a hanger and play with them.

*I got a belly brace for one of my wife’s best friends and we had a blast setting that thing up it took like 5 min for my wife and I to wrap he up with all the, Velcrowing and repositioning.
