I've been testing the new SUPIR upscaling model locally that was released a few days ago.

Underlying architecture uses SDXL to imagine details in low resolution images (and high res, but that needs much more VRAM), so it's rather similiar to how Magnific works but free....well ignoring how much you spent upgrading your computer to run it  

Results are pretty great, in some cases even better than what Gigapixel could pull off. Here's some examples:

Course it's not always perfect, and might needs some post-work, but all of these as base generations

If anyone has any low quality images, or pretty low resolution, post them here and I'll upscale them.

(FYI the Jenna Coleman original was an inpaint morph I did)

This is pretty amazing. Been waiting for something that doesn't do freaky Acid trip faces and melty everything else.

If you want to give these a shot that would be cool. I included some old classics and 2 morphs I intentionally downscaled to see what it does with them. I'm pretty curious.

Solid choices dude. #3 especially. I played around with a weenie hut junior online version last night before it hit me with the paywall. I didn't play much with the settings so I may pick your brain about it when I can get my hands on a way to run this. Yours come out waaaay better than what I got last night, even though what I got was waaaay better than the older upscalers.

Those are pretty impressive, particularly the hotarianna one. You can definitely see the cracks in it though but definitely not a enough to dismiss It, that for sure. It denoises the hell out of the faces but that's the strong suit of the others. Easy fix.

This is extremely useful considering I absolutely can not for the life of me get an SDXL setup to inpaint worth a fuck.

Another super low resolution test, and before anyone loses their shit yes not a pregnant belly, but it did teach mean that a scaled CFG can allow more details to be taken from the image itself (rather than imagined).
