...got these yesterday. Quality could be better, but my MO is to shoot a video and take stills, because my phone's camera mode has an annoying shutter sound you can't deactivate, even when on Silent.

A GoPro works really well with taking stealth photos. Though that is only a theory, and I haven't worked up the courage to actually try it.

Spy app?

Spy camera OS (opensource) for Android. Nice because it allows silent, set interval continuous shooting in the background, so you can actually be texting or internetting while shooting, or casually hold it down by your side w/o worrying about pushing a button.
