Anyone open to rewriting the scene, but it’s with an older woman and she doesn’t burst and instead gives birth to quadruplets?

Then it wouldn't be the "Species" thing. That's just how they reproduce. Look at the final scene of Species 2 where Eve is in the ambulance and her belly starts to expand.
