This.  i never understood why other people's preferences matter so much. if it makes them happy, why does it matter? why can't they be happy just because you don't like it? i say more power to them, it's not my business to say otherwise.

That's what they get for putting their business online/on the air. You upload anything for others to see, then you give others the ability to judge you. You don't want other people's preferences? Don't share.

I'll invoke a poignant quote from the first Jurassic Park movie "just because we can, doesn't mean we should". Some things in nature aren't meant to be messed or altered with. I don't think we humans yet truly understand the implications here.

I have a more live and let live view on stuff like this. It doesn’t bother me, and hardly affects me. To reiterate what some others have said, if it is safe for all parties involved then there’s no problem with it in my opinion.

It’s much easier to keep on scrolling and let people do what they do. I doubt that the world will run out of “normal” preggos to admire lol. There is a sense of irony in some of the people that are particularly negative towards it as to being a part of a fetish that is commonly seen as gross, creepy, or disgusting. But, anyone’s entitled to their own opinion. As long as someone doesn’t go out of their way to hurt people, no matter the context, I’m fine with criticism.

That’s mostly why I advocate for psychological studies and not just the run of the mill sociological ones that are common with academics about the issue here. In America, there is a lack of research on this and hopefully that can change because of America’s gradually advancing dialogue of mental health that was near non-existent many years ago.

After all, something like PTSD was only studied to an extent during Vietnam and used to be just called “shell-shock” and attributed to cowardice. Today, research and therapy are both quite extensive. Hopefully the same happens for many new social/psychological phenomena that arise during these times. I’m betting the pandemic only promoted feelings of agoraphobia with isolation orders.

This country is too bigoted to live and let live. If people think your way of life is weird they get triggered and feel it’s their duty to let you know how wrong you are.

The ideal preference has been from the straight person’s point of view for years. The societal norm is not going to change overnight. This stuff is going to be offensive to some people and they have a right to express their opinion just as much as the trans community has a right to display their point of view.

Sure, not commenting rude bigoted remarks is the proper way to handle things you find offensive but that doesn’t mean the people that want to express themselves should not do so if they decide to.

How we behave in here is up to each member. Comment or don’t comment. The choice is ours.

Yeah, I was trying to get at how behavior of people can be harsh sometimes and not necessarily because I think one view is better over the other. There’s a difference between being polite and being rude. Just seems like most people who actually have criticism turn to dehumanizing instead of worrying about people’s well-being. That sells a different message.

It’s important to push back against bigots. No tolerance for intolerance.

Pushing back can help, @noobyzors , but not always. It’s best not to let people get your goat on stuff like this while being civil about it. When all else fails, just gotta walk away and keep going on like nothing happened.
