As most members have probably noticed, we're experiencing intermittent outages.

These are caused primarily by the way the script handles thumbnails. Occasionally, large (thumbnail-laden) threads will be hidden to reduce stress on server resources.

For greater context -- the attachment.php script is executed for each and every thumbnail (tens per page per visitor, for guests and members). This is a huge inefficiency associated with MyBB that we'll be attempting to remedy.
