I’m into creative writing and was thinking of joining Reddit to get advice and commiserate. But I wonder which method is better/more acceptable:
1) Join the Reddit devoted to writers
2) Join Reddits relevant to my characters

I'm not a reddit user but I dont see why you can't do both

You can do both. Might get more of a sense of community in the smaller subreddits, though

Yeah, the “El Paso girl” method is true. And I bet the r/creative writing is HUGE
