Just a small rant, but seriously people? MEGA isn't the end all be all of Cloud Storage. Everyday I keep seeing the same people whining about "why aren't you using MEGA??? Google Drive is bad and blah blah blah". For some reason, several people have a mindset that MEGA is this god-tier service and that Google Drive should be banned from even being mentioned here. And to those people who think that, I will give you 4 reasons why I say otherwise.

1. Every single time a popular drive is uploaded (ie Orta's Camgirl collection) there's always someone complaining about "max quota viewed" or "I can't view the video". Well, MEGA is no better with their Bullshit transfer allowance.

   

So you're either forced to wait or have to pony up the cash in order to view the video again.

2. The Pricing. What would you rather pay, 2TB of storage for $10 a month with Google Drive. Or $20 for 2TB storage a month with MEGA?

3. MEGA isn't immune to DCMA or TOS takedowns. In fact, no Cloud storage is immune. We all found that out the hard way when RussianBear's drive was taken down.

4. The fact that you have to jump through hoops to transfer files from one MEGA Drive to another. With Google, it's as simple as copying n pasting. With MEGA, you'd either have to download and reupload the files the old fashion way, or sign up to a third party service and having to link both accounts together.

All in all, MEGA isn't a bad service. I'm just tired of seeing the same people bitch and moan about other people still using Google Drive while glossing over MEGA's major faults.

Personally I never saw a real reason to use MEGA over Google or any other drive besides the initial 50 free GB (if they even still do that anymore).

Allsync does give 50 free gbs but if you share a drive without changing the link, you will get a DMCA on your folder

MEGA has always been pretty inconsistent as far as download speed. Sometimes its takes minutes, sometimes hours.

90% of peoples complaints about Google are based on their very obvious ignorance about basic file sharing. When a popular drive like ortas gets dropped, only so much bandwith can go through that one part of the drive. So obviously it will slow down. Next to asking for sources, complaining about a Google drive not working for ONLY you is the cancer of this forum.

I 100% agree with you. MEGA isn't perfect and has major flaws such as terrible download speeds and high prices per GB. Google may have it's faults as well, but it's still the best Drive imo.

Actually Google applies quotas to video files on an entire Google account.  The exact quotas are hard to find now, but they apply quotas per 60-minute period and per 24-hour period on a user's entire Drive.  Basically, they really don't want people using Drive as a video platform.

I assume that would fall on your Internet Service Provider. But just like Google Drive, MEGA wasn't designed to be a dedicated video hosting site, so it'll end up happening to everyone eventually. Especially with more and more videos are passing the 2GB mark in size.
