Seems to me this was the only place here to ask this. I've noticed that lately Pornhub has been setting formerly-free videos as paid. This was not the case last year or the year before, if I'm remembering correctly, but I'm not entirely sure on the timeline. Now, I know the people posting the videos need money for whatever situation they have going on, but I have to ask: Why now? In just one or two years' time, free content has become paid content. I'm a little confused. Any information would be most helpful. I don't mean to be "that guy"; I'm just a confused individual seeking answers.

I think that happens when the content is uploaded by the models themselves, not regular users. It's likely pornhub is giving these models an option to make money off the sites' huge user base.

PH is being smart. why get DMCA'ed, when you can team up with the models themselves? it's a win/win situation.
