(January 14, 2022, 2:34 pm)LTKNT101 There is also the factor of natural immunity that must be considered. Big Pharma is obviously pushing the vaccine because it makes them loads of money and they will say whatever they can to get as many people to take it as possible. Their best tool is using fear. Keep in mind that the survival rate for covid is extremely high and if you catch it you likely will not require a hospital stay. Several people have caught covid and recovered. There are medicines on the market that have been proven effective against covid but we don't hear about them in the news because of reasons. Covid is more manageable than we are being led to believe. A lot of what we are being told by the media is spin and fear-mongering. If you connect the dots you will find Big Pharma behind every organization that is pushing the vaccine.

So instead of blabbering, educate us on how "Big Pharma" is making money if they're giving the vaccines out for free.
Like many drug dealers, the first couple doses are free. When you’re hooked thats when they start charging. Also, you pay for them in your taxes anyway

It's not crack or heorin, so your comparison doesn't make sense. Nobody is addicted to getting the shot or hangs out at the back of their local pharmacy.
Oh yeah? And if you’re not able to go get groceries because you don’t have a covid pass? I guess some people just can’t connect the dots lol

Then be mad at stores who are enforcing vaccine mandates for customers. Don’t shop there. Just find another place to spend your money if you’re pissed that some stores might refuse service to unvaccinated people.

I guess you guys in the US don't really have the full picture, but in a few countries in Europe (France, Germany, Italy, and probably a few others) this is mandated by the state, not private companies. Everyone NEEDS to comply with these rules. People without the covid pass are basically banned from public spaces and cannot live normally.

Obviously pharmaceutical companies want to sell their product to governments, but they also will take any opportunity to discredit their competitors if they can push their product further. Like if there is a problem with the Pfizer vaccine J&J has every reason to expose them and vice versa. They can't push their products by lying without major risks. To say that a company is motivated by profit is so mindnumbingly obvious, cuz we live under capitalism.

That's not here or there when it comes to vaccines being helpful in reducing negative impacts for humanity. I'm not an immunologist but I'm in a very related field and it baffles me how badly gov and science have bungled communication to the public on this. Which is also in part the fault of bad faith actors spreading bad info.

Most politicians fight tooth and nail to avoid vaccine mandates because it makes them look bad. It often doesn't actually benefit their careers at all, since it's really easy for the population to ignore the benefits of a high vaccination rate. In fact look at how many actively oppose them for brownie points with their base? The fact that it's become a partisan issue is silly.
Preventative measures have the problem of being an invisable benefit. ie: "It worked, so nothing happened".

A large part of the current anti-vax movement is evangelical christians who believe getting vaccinated is admitting a lack of faith in God. The weirdest part is the people slamming vaccines as a cash grab while hyping mono-clonal antibodies. One dose of antibody treatment costs $3,000-$5,000 usd.
Yeah hot damn it takes a lot to manufacture mono or poly clonal antibodies. You make a good point, if anything could be used as a cash grab that's it.

I live in a different country. I would speak for almost all countries by saying vaccinations are free everywhere i know of. I have read the Bill Gates theory , The links to some weird Christian connection. i am sorry to say but the health system sucks in America, and unfortunately the scientific literacy is appalling in the US. 5 minutes on the internet and everyone is an expert on pandemic prevention . BTW, I do have a science degree with a couple of units on microbiology/

According to the CDC website, at the end of January, about 2,800 people die from COVID every day. 2,800 souls/day (7 day moving average). More than 95% of hospitalizations for COVID are unvaccinated. They clog up the healthcare system. My friend Rocky can't get a much-needed quadruple bypass because there aren't enough ICU beds in my county. And all because of people who won't get vaccinated...

People who don't get vaccinated for whatever reason provide a breeding ground for the virus to evolve itself into ever-more contagious strains. COVID became the Delta variant; Delta became Omicron. Let's ask the unvaccinated what they have for us next. Maybe something that can get around our vaccines. Then we'll be right back where we started.

Yeah, individual rights are one thing, but public health is another. Very few people seriously think children shouldn't be vaccinated against polio, smallpox, chicken pox, measles, etc... Tens of millions of doses of COVID vaccine have been administered safely. What's the hesitation?

As a group, people who don't get vaccinated for whatever reason own the blame for those 2,800 souls we lose each day. It's not just about you.

I got my booster (Pfizer) about a week ago. I had a fever the day after, and my armpit lymph node was swollen and painful for a few days. Overall, I had less severe side-effects than with the primary shots from Moderna.
