No pics, but a glorious series of sightings I thought I would share.
About 3 months ago, one Sunday morning at church my preg-dar goes off. A blondish-gingerish woman, probably early 30's, at church with her 2 young boys and her husband, is showing that little bump in the belly that could either be "burrito or baby". I was pretty sure it was baby, so I make a mental note.
Over the following weeks my instinct proves correct as she begins to show more and more. And as luck would have it, she seems to be on the same Sunday morning schedule as we are for mass. So I am seeing her every week. And every week she is getting bigger and bigger
The end of June comes. My kids have finished up school and my wife and I decide to take them on a weekend hiking trip. We'll be away on Sunday so I won't get to see how the pregnant lady is doing. I remember distinctly thinking to myself "too bad, she'll probably have the baby at some point while we are away and I won't get to see her at her biggest".
Now, I often read on these forums guys posting "omg super huge belly" but when you check the girl in question out its respectable but not huge. So no, I'm not going to say she had a huge belly. But at the end of June, before I left for that weekend hiking trip, I genuinely felt "Ok yea she must be just about done".
Well, she wasn't. We went to church the week after that camping trip and she was there. Pregnant as ever.
At this point its July and every Sunday morning is hot and humid, and she likes to wear these one piece dresses. Knee length. Respectable for church and for a mother. But tight on her swollen form. When she stood and walked to receive communion, you could see her panty lines in her dress. She had a nice plump ass. Not fat. She was an average build before pregnancy, not overweight. Tits - respectable. Maybe a B before, a C now in her engorged pregnancy state. Overall a classy, pretty looking lady. Who just so happened to be very pregnant in a hot and humid summer. Poor thing.
Anyway, she is getting bigger. Her belly button sticks out through her dress. Her panty lines are visible. Every week I am wondering, is this the last time I am going to see her? How much bigger can she get? Surely she is 40 weeks this week. And each week she shows up again, a little bit bigger.
So it's 2 weeks ago on Sunday. She's there in a peach coloring dress with her husband and 2 little boys. She looks like shes ready to drop. Remember when I said above that guys here sometimes say "omg huge belly" but it isn't really? This lady is huge. Not twins huge. But "wow, she is really really pregnant" huge. She's clearly uncomfortable. She's carrying low now - her belly button being a good indicator as it is angling slightly down to the ground instead of straight out. And her dress is stretched pretty tight around her belly. A fertile sight to behold.
Church is over, we walk out, she and her family walk out the same time. I make eye contact with her then her husband, and to her husband I ask if they know what they are having. We spoke maybe 2 months before, and we are regulars, so they know us even if they don't "know" us. He says they don't know, it's going to be a surprise. I tell him they might just end up with 3 boys like my wife and I have - which is fun, but boy is it a handful sometimes. We joke a little, exchange some pleasantries, and continue all walking out. The priest is at the door saying good bye, and to the pregnant lady asks how much longer. She says her due date is Tuesday and says a few more things, but all I can remember, because all I focused on, was her saying "Tuesday".
Tuesday.
Darn, I say to myself. We are going on vacation next week so in the off chance she goes past due and is there on the following Sunday, I'll miss her. But it was fun getting to watch her grow. Even if it was just getting to look at her sporadically, from across the church pews, every Sunday for just an hour. It was still fun.
So I resign myself to the fact I won't see her pregnant again. We go on vacation. We come back. We go to church today. Walking in, naturally, I start thinking about her and wonder if she'll be there. I'm doing the calculations in my head - what are the chances she could be overdue? My wife went overdue with one of ours, but on day 7 they induced her. She would be overdue what, like 10 days or something? TBH I still haven't worked out the math on it. Because as I walked in and glanced across the church, there she was. That blonde ginger hair. But from where I stood, someones head blocked her abdomen. Did she have the baby and come to church? That's pretty dedicated to have a baby and come back to church within a week or so of giving birth. This is what I'm thinking as we walk to the pew. And then I see her abdomen. Swollen. Huge. Belly button distending through a black dress. Still very much pregnant.
My heart rate increases instantly. I partially develop tunnel vision as we sit down in our seats. I can't process how she could still be pregnant. Maybe she was due the Tuesday after I thought she said she was due. I don't know. I still don't.
She was blocked from view most of the mass, but I got a good view of her profile as she went up for communion. Once again, the underwear lines showing through the tight black dress. Her nice plump backside sticking out. Belly distended, hanging low, belly button pointing at an angle toward the ground. Her walk a bigger waddle then when I last saw her. She was taking her time. Poor girl.
I wish my eyes could have taken a photo. I've tried all day to bring up and burn the image of her into my brain, but alas it is disappearing. And that is partially why I take to to delurking and sharing my story, so that I can perhaps remember it better, and to of course share this recurring sighting with you.
When we left church, she stayed behind. A couple of older ladies caught her and were chatting about her pregnancy I could tell, the one older woman smiling and putting her hand on blond gingers pregnant belly and rubbing it up and down a few times. I didn't have a chance to get closer and make pleasant conversation while also checking her out. So that's it. Maybe we'll see her again next week. But I would really be floored if that was the case. She has to be induced any day now, it just doesn't make sense.
