Don't believe even half what you read on internet about Venezuela. Most of it is propaganda created and put out by the so-called "opposition" - ie - the Venezuelan oligarchy - with the assistance financing and complicity of - and with total subservience to - the U.S. CIA. For the real story about what's really going on in Venezuela, either go there yourself like I have, or at the very least, go on the internet and check out 'TeleSur'. (en español) - or 'TeleSur- English' for English.

For fuck's sake, I came here to fap not to read someone's half-assed commentary about a situation they can't even begin to comprehend...
And really, TeleSur? you might as well suggest Fox News while you're at it...
Want the real story go LIVE in Venezuela, Like I AM. Or at the very least check http://prodavinci.com/

Want the real story go LIVE in Venezuela, Like I AM. Or at the very least check http://prodavinci.com/ To be fair, I'm Latin American and a lot of the things being published by pro-U.S outlets is nothing short of declaring Venezuela the third Reich. I'm stunned they haven't made up some bullshit about Venezuela police and military throwing newborn babies against the wall or creating chemical weapons (rumour being peddled by Mayor Smolanski). I know this isn't the time and place to get political and as much as Telesur has its inherent biases, I think its safe to say that after the whole debacle of centrist, conservative and liberal media lying about the Iraq War and other international issues one should be skeptical of certain claims. Not to mention what purpose would there be in starving your own citizens(many who vote for you) and possibly causing the U.S to invade you?

I'm skeptical of the US news media too but, from what I gather from alternative new sources trust, the Chavez government did a poor job diversifying the country's economy during the oil boom and made it difficult for businesses in several industries to operate without government interference. All of that contributed to the country's current economic woes.
