are these candids actually pictures or screenshots from a video?
i'd suggest taking a 4k video and then extracting the pictures later
use the volume button to start/stop recording  and a flip cover to hide your screen
you can actually extract some real high quality pictures from a 4k recording provided your phone camera is decent(flagships)
and try to be as still as you can when recording, anticipate where the subject will stop/take a look at stuffs, pan the camera in her direction and keep your hand steady

Unfortunately, my phone sucks, those were attempts at still photos

next time just try video recording at highest resolution, whatever your phone output may be, it is just infinitely more convenient to continously record than to snap individual pictures
