Kristen L, twins. Delivered 15lbs, 07 oz's of babies at 39wks!

At 34wks with the twins, her doctor said," ...but if we induce you now we can save you from more stretch marks and stretched skin”.
Today at my NST I was offered an induction. Both babies are healthy and passed with flying colours. There was no medical reason to induce.
Yet even so, I was presented with the opportunity to induce any day if I’d like. I politely thanked them and said I would chat with my midwives tomorrow about our game plan as I’m more than comfortable waiting until the babies and my body are ready.
Her reply. “You definitely don’t want to wait too long. You are going to continue to get even bigger and fast. But if we induce you now we can save you from more stretch marks and stretched skin.”
This birth isn’t just mine, it’s the babies too. And sure, I’ve gained a lot of stretch marks, and my stomach has reeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyy stretched as they’ve grown, but isn’t that amazing?! Why do I need to be saved?
A woman’s body is incredible and no amount of stretch marks or loose skin is going to change that ?
Yep... big babies!
