Just tried posting in TikTok under Videos, and this url:
tiktok.com/@valeria.poblete/video/6909238102687059206
Gets reformatted into a bunch of junk like this:

tiktok.com/@valeria.poblete/video/6909238102687059206

If I change the period after "valeria" to an underscore though, it works fine, like so:

tiktok.com/@valeria_poblete/video/6909238102687059206

This link will even send you to the right final url. However this only works because tiktok figures it out on their end.

Is there something we can do about this on our end?

This is an issue with the tagging system. The inclusion of @ activates the tagging system and the dot terminates the link. There's no way around this to my knowledge, except the solution you highlighted.

As you can see, without it, it formats properly (but doesn't work because TikTok requires @): tiktok.com/valeria.poblete/video/6909238102687059206
