vids gone, dangit I knew pornhub would go to crap after they started doing all that model portal nonsense.

it's not model portals it's mastercard and visa putting pressure on them to review content so under-age and other items don't make it up there. its a bitch as I've got a hundred odd vids up there that will probably get nuked. can't see PH surviving if it just becomes a promo window for paid content.....

yeah I got the whole picture now I belive, heard there's a whole new york times article. and that they purged what appears to be all non-creator uploaded content.

and like what happens now, they block regular users from posting anything, they turn into youtube and accidentally delete everything that shouldnt be?

Personally i feel there was nothing wrong with how they did things, they have a user report/flag function.
It's a pain everyone is so prudish and judgmental towards erotica (or anything really), even porn sites now are being forced to censor wtf.

first tumblr, then youtube instagram can't even remember that other old image site, but now twitter is cracking down, and people got banned/deleted just for having an adult-ish image in their banner.

and if they delay vid posting to go through some review process doesn't that ruin the whole understanding going on. posters can upload whatever they want to share, and it can go up until its dmcad.
If they have to review everything before it goes up, that would make them liable for everything that gets through. i think.

So this feels more like it would benefit copyright than anything. if that is how things go then worst case nothing good is ever posted on ph or a public site again.

It all came down to money. If Visa & Mastercard stop allowing PornHub to accept credit card payments then they probably wouldn't be able to keep the servers on. Yes, I do know they could probably accept crypto or find some other payment methods, but the majority of paying customers on PornHub don't know how to do that. I know they also make money from ads and affiliate links to paid networks, but PornHub was popular for the amateur content. But a big portion of their revenue is paid to them via credit cards and that would be a huge blow to their company.

Good point on the delay/mod review of all videos. I wonder if any liability would then be on PornHub if anything does get through? Probably some lawyer out there already thinking of some class action lawsuit

I get the whole article, however that was a small percentage of videos and most already get flagged anyways. Its all part of the new "overcorrection" culture we have now.
