I think artistic depictions of pregnant women, especially as figures of beauty or eroticism, are a modern phenomenon. I haven't seen a lot of artwork like the attached photos that were created prior to the '90s.

Times and tastes change. It's much more acceptable now to be nude and pregnant -- and to admire nudity and pregnancy -- than it was before.
