We're all aware that this site deals in a somewhat controversial topic, being A) a web forum, B) a forum for fetish porn, and C) a forum for a specific, (unpopular?) fetish at that. Naturally, I try my best to keep my activities here as far away from my personally identifiable information as possible, as I assume most others here would. Still, sometimes you just feel like destroying any and all information that could lead to potential embarrassment, like those people who rig dead-man's switches that delete their browsing histories if anything bad happens to them, or who run automated scripts to recursively erase every comment and post they've ever made on a website just so it isn't easily searchable anymore.

While I recognize that deleting an account doesn't completely erase it out of existence, as there are mirrors and copies of this site elsewhere, I feel like it would be appreciated as an extra layer of security, convenience and comfort. Plus, it would (hopefully) put a stop to the endless "please delete my account" threads, which ultimately just clog up the site with unnecessary threads.

I'm going to look into implementing a simple request form. How does a delete request form sound?

Would also prefer a simple button to delete the account whenever the user deem fit.
I'm not into computing myself so I don't understand how tedious it is to implement a delete system but why the stop-gap measure of "requesting a deletion" instead of placing a hard-baked system delete option?
