True, you can't rape a doll. But if the owner of the doll stops seeing the doll for what it is (a doll), it could be a gateway to harmful behavior toward women. Those are probably edge cases for sure, but I see where the apprehension comes from.

Ultimately, any sexual hobby - whether it's dolls or porn or increasingly graphic sexual activity - can be healthy until it turns unhealthy.

I think it comes down to the mental state of the individual. I do not believe that movies, video games, porn, sex dolls or any other form of entertainment can be held responsible for the unsavory actions of an individual who decides to lose his or her mind one day and go out into the world and commit an act of violence or commit a crime.

I have played GTA games for years and not once have I ever been compelled to go out on the real streets, snatch someone out of their car, and take off in it on a mad joyride through town.

I generally agree. But even a healthy person can have a healthy habit turn unhealthy. I am NOT saying that it necessarily or even commonly leads to something that is harmful to others, but at some point people can become desensitized to their healthy release valve.
