He's still struggling with health issues, specifically his heart, which is severly limiting his ability to work when he can barely sit down for extended periods of time.

It has been a hot minute...

He’s been AWOL since November. I don’t expect his output to really improve much at this point. It’s been years since he’s produced content steadily.

Nah, it’s been years. Around the end of 2021 is where things really fell off. There’s been a couple major updates since then but mostly sketchbooks. Special Delivery II has been a WiP for almost four years now. NSNN was abandoned last year. Phantom Pregnancy this year.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand that it’s been a hard few years on Icarus. First his fathers passing, and now his own illness. Icarus is completely entitled to all the time off he needs, or wants, or whatever. 

But come on, be honest with us. At his peak he was pulling in like 8k a month on subscribestar. There is a dedicated channel on his blocked called “Open Talk with Icarus” and he can’t even bother to pop in and let us know what’s going on with him once a month, his admins need to track him down and pry an answer out.

I’ve been following him since he started out on Patreon, and for most of that I was a platinum subscriber. Three or four years later and I’m still waiting on the commission I spent probably four figures on.

@casual: This was based on him having ~2-3k subscribers at the $5 tier - which he did around 2021. This is not including the couple hundred he had at the $20 tier.

@PSOCIDAE: I completely agree with you. It's disrespectful and disappointing, to his paid subscribers. I understand that life can take it's toll, but he was not the only one suffering throughout those years.
The least he could have done was a small update. It's sad that these white knights rush in to defend the dude who can't help but not be punctual and communicative.

I never had an issue with him taking a break; hell, he even apologized me the first time he had a long hiatus and offered me some free commissions. I turned him down, but all I asked was "Hey Icarus, get better and just keep us in the loop". The man simply cannot do that.

However, I have an issue with his incapability of providing even the most basic communication and his empty delivery promises. Honestly, if he just told people he was going on a hiatus and did not mention a return date, or not mention hard deadlines when he's working, that would be INFINITELY better than what he has done so far.
It's honestly a sad joke and no employer - which the subscriber community basically is - would ever tolerate someone AWOLing with NO COMMUNICATION.
