As the title indicates, I got the opportunity to feel my first belly today!

At my job there's two receptionists. One works until 5 every day and the other works from 5-7:30 as the part-time. Today, the part-time receptionist wasn't able to come into work so they had a girl from our service center fill in. I've met the replacement dozens of times, we both know who the other person is but don't interact that much as our jobs are not the same. When I heard she was going to be covering the shift, I made sure to hang around the front desk for the remainder of mine. She's 31 weeks along and has a nice bump. She's tall and a slender woman so her bump doesn't necessarily protrude very far out but it is round and it's obvious she is pregnant. 

I was standing around the front desk with her helping her get accustomed to the receptionist job and then we started chatting. We talked a bit about her job and my job and what it's like at each other's respective areas of the workplace. Then the conversation shifted naturally to her pregnancy. I don’t often actually come into contact or know any pregnant women but when I do I am always able to control myself and be completely normal and not at all aroused. I'll stare a lot usually, but I'll be smart about it and it's never been a problem. So I was able to keep that same composure during our conversation and I asked her about when she was due and how she was feeling and whatnot. We were talking about how the baby is always kicking her and how she's ready to be done and she was talking about how her skin is getting tight now and she's always feeling the baby hiccup. I usually probably would never even ask but in that moment I just looked at her and said "can I feel it? I've never felt a belly before" and she just said "of course!" so I put my full hand on her belly. I moved it a little across her belly but made sure not to linger or put it anywhere further. In total I felt it for probably about 3 seconds. It was soft but then again her shirt was very soft so that sensation was not what I expected it would feel like when I finally felt a belly. Still, I did give it the one rub and it was awesome. She was super cool about it and didn't seem at all apprehensive. I pulled my hand back and in my head my mind was racing about how great it was. I'm more just happy with myself that I worked up the courage to ask, as the belly itself didn't end up feeling all that impressive. Still, was happy I did it. 

I'll definitely be crossing paths with her again before she's due but probably not in an aspect where I'll get another opportunity to feel it again since she sits behind a counter and the spot she sits in wouldn't make a lot of sense for me to go to with the job I have. I definitely could go to her, like nobody would think anything of it, but I wouldn't just go to where she sits behind the counter just for the opportunity to feel it again, especially since a lot of people sit behind the counter and would hear our conversation which I don't need. All in all, though, I'm glad I felt it and hopefully I can feel another one at some point!

Kudos for handling it all in a very respectful way and treating her as a person first. Sounds like you handled it all perfectly, and that's not always easy, so nicely done!

Good job. From the way you describe it, she doesn't seem to mind belly rubs. If you play your cards right, you'll probably get to rub it a lot more. In my experience, the more you get to rub a girl's belly, the more she gets used to it and the more casual it will become to her. Then you'll be able to rub her belly for much longer.

Good for you, OP. Of course, it is a good thing to remain courteous when interacting with pregnant women. I still remember the first time when I get to rub a large preggo belly and it was so long ago, maybe 11 years ago. Maybe one of the reasons why I wanted to start a family in the near future, but I don't know, I still have unresolved feelings regarding that.

Hey all! Don't want to necro my own thread but I wanted to update everyone to say that I felt her belly again today! And today was MUCH better! I had to go down to the service area for a bit to do some work and a portion of my work required me to spend some time at everyone's computer. When I was at her counter that she sits at, she was the last computer I had to work on so we were chatting while I was working on it and then after I finished I just hung out for a bit. While everyone was working and people were taking phone calls, we were still chatting and when the conversation died down, I simply asked "is he kicking at all? I still want to feel him kick!" and she leaned back in her chair and said "a little but it's hard to feel" and she took my hand and put it on her belly and had her hand on mine while she tried to feel for a kick. I couldn't feel him kick but for the next half hour I just hung out next to her and made conversation about it and poked and prodded her belly a bit - she let me feel the different parts and apply a little pressure and feel how the top of her belly was firm and the center was hard because that's where the baby was sitting. Many times she put her hand on mine and moved it to where she could feel him kick, but he stopped kicking as soon as my hand went there. But I totally had a full palm on her belly and was poking it and moving my hand around for a good half hour. On my way out, she even (unprompted) turned to me and said "are you going to be here tomorrow? If you come down tomorrow he might kick for you" - so of course I'm going to have to go back down tomorrow to try to feel. When I felt it today for the first time I didn't even have to ask (I felt the situation out and I figured I could get away with just putting my hand on her belly - I was right) so now at this point I feel like any time I'm near her and things are slow I could easily feel it without too much suspicion or randomness behind it. Today was so great!

kudos to you my friend. embrace this time. its likely she is enjoying the attention. remember to keep it appropriate for work and the situation overall.

Ohhh! I am jealous (in a positive way)! 

Unfortunately I've never had the pleasure of feeling a pregnant belly. It's always something which has very much alluded me so far, but if I ever had the chance to do so - in a mutual, respectful situation like your own (if it wasn't my own girlfriend/wife...if one ever came into being that is...), I would very happily do so. I do work with several women and, counting roughly in my head, I think I've been there whilst there has been at least five pregnancies. Unfortunately, such an opportunity never cropped up and they basically kept the small amount of pregnancy talk to themselves - understandable, but of course rather frustrating when you have this fetish.
