If you are trying to record private shows, I found that having two monitors works best. I would have the video full screen on one monitor recording and the tip section on another screen. If you can't split it (not very tech minded), you can just have the same window opened on both screens, one recording and the other for you to interact. 

If you have a slower PC or lower end graphics card that struggles to support two HD streams at once, make sure you change the resolution on the second screen (tip screen) to 240p (or lowest setting). This will help keep the recording screen streaming smoother.

No offense to the OP but this is a horrible way to record cams. If you're dead set on using OBS, at least full screen the cam and capture that. Anybody who tells you to resize up like this, doesn't know what they're talking about.

The best way to capture CB is a direct stream capture using X-StreamLoader. This will capture without overlays or even the CB logo. I can make a tutorial is anybody needs it. There might be a way to use this for private shows too, but I'm not sure how. You can always screen capture, but Camtasia is far superior to OBS in my opinion. The cropping is much easier and you can edit the clip after the fact.

For public cams on Chaturbate, X-stream loader will record without watermark, yes, and it's free

XStreamloader allows u to back door thru to cb without a single notice utilizes VLC , and uses mdos as a connection inscription...it doesn't use alot of memory unless ur getting 3-5 videos at a time full hd and no watermarks.

A Github project that records Cammers using FFmpeg and youtube-dl tools, You need a basic level of knowledge of using a Linux terminal, I have an instance running in the cloud, but it can generate upwards of 10 GB of data per day  right now I have a Cron command that every minute scans for completed files and uploads them to a storage bucket in the cloud, but depending on how much it ends up costing me I might have to make some adjustments,  pretty handy tho

Personally I use Snagit.   It records much like your other suggested except it starts out by giving you a customizable recording box that you drag from upper left to lower right of the area you want to record.  It will record skype audio too if you have skype routed through your computer.  Any and every sound your computer puts out can and will be recorded by the recording software.   It allows me to grab just enough of my cam model video screen and omitting the text (unless I want it) because of the customizable recording box.  So turn off blocked, steam or other software you might be running in the background while using this.  When you stop recording (you can pause too) it then dumps the recorded data into its own video editing software so you can cut pieces out easily.  I'm sure there are ways to combine videos too, but I haven't researched it as it's just not exactly necessary.   Though there are other programs that can do that too. I just went ahead and bought the rights to their version 12 a few years ago, and it's been more than adequate for my needs.

I do have one question though.  I have been using Torch browser for ripping streamed videos and saving them directly to my external drive so I can continue browsing while sifting through other pages and things (currently roommates are using my other spare monitor because their TV gave out in their room, so I am left with just the one (43" so you won't have to ask)).     But pornhub, xnxx and xhamster (to name a few) have gotten smart and have altered their database streaming of their videos some so that when I select torch to start ripping the video file, most the time it grabs an advertisement.   I have been trying to figure out a way around this, but not knowing what's going on server side in the coding I just don't know.  Do any of you have similar type software?   I can use Snagit to grab any video I want, but with the single monitor I don't want to leave any of the desired jap vids running for 1-2h when I could just click the button and directly download the video file.  Some of the cheaper random sites don't have quite the advertisement security cockblock going on so I try to go through them when possible, but there are still some very desirable videos from the major sites.

I found a guide for it but I can only get it to play not save. A tutorial would definitely help.
