(October 30, 2018, 2:18 pm)quasa2 you must be mistaken. google never deletes files. maybe you uploadet the videos to another drive.

I may very well be mistaken. Just thought for sure that Google nuked the files. I put them in a "Candi" folder and came back later to find the folder empty.

Oh well.

(October 30, 2018, 3:20 pm)SweetMilk i feel like if I don't record, i'm gonna miss out on something.

A few years ago I was knee deep in doing something similar, just with photos: using the Instagram API to write a web application that combed Instagram every five minutes, saved every photo from like 25 different preggo-related tags (while also avoiding duplicates), and archived them in a searchable database. The ultimate goal was that it would become a web site people could go to to see excellent preggo content from Instagram, and all the content would be curated by me, as I would go through every so often and weed out the meh stuff.

Anyway, the pic-saving script worked - remarkably well, I might add - but I never got around to writing the front end that did the searching, so I was never really able to easily search through the pics; I just had a huge folder of JPEGs and a raw database. The app ran for a few months, archiving every pic from those tags every step of the way, before Instagram changed their API requirements and paused my app access because it was no longer compliant. A few more months went by, and I finally dug around enough to realize that I didn't want to bother putting forth the effort to make the app compliant again (kind of like how Statigram/Iconosquare was never the same after the API change). And once I reached that decision, I didn't want to finish the front end so that I could even go through the months' worth of pics I already had. In the end I just let it all go and deleted the pics.

But what if I had continued? What if I used 50 tags, or 100 tags, instead of 25? I still would've inevitably missed some gems that slipped through the cracks. It just wasn't worth the concern to me - I had/have more important things going on in my life, and if I had continued with my plans it would've turned into a habit I would consider unhealthy.

I feel you are at a similar crossroads. I know you didn't exactly ask for this kind of advice, but there you have it.

(October 29, 2018, 3:49 pm)Bellyfan27 Probably in total from my now broken iPad, my iPhone, and my computer, probably equivalates to only 8 GB. I have photos and my videos on there. I know it isn't much but it does the job well.

are you guys compressing your videos or something? Few Full HD videos alone are atleast 1GB each

I don't have much because it's pointless when you're only going to watch a few videos and they aren't HD
