The third reason is the one I was going to give. I think it's especially true with young women who are especially soft spoken and conservative in their behavior. Seeing that little (or big) bump helps one imagine the carnal and lustful side (in a wholesome way of course) that they may have behind closed doors with that special someone.  And low and behold, his sperm was kickass enough to produce a human being!

I've thought about this quite a bit and the best answer I've come up with (at least for me) is that it comes from a primal level. The desire to breed is hardwired into us all and a pregnant woman i the living embodiment of this. You KNOW she is fertile. You KNOW she has sex. So, the animal part of your brain says, "Hey this is the one you want!" The physical changes are an incredible bonus, don't get me wrong, but I think this may help explain it.
