Jesus Christ. The Wicked Witch of the West meets Cruella DeVille meets godawful haircut.

As I recall, "feminism" is the movement for gender equality, not the movement to find all people equally physically attractive. If she was a pregnant man, I'd say he was hideous, too.

This.

I know we're all here to jerk off and whatever, but learning is cool, too: feminism in 2016 doesn't have anything to do with bra burning and other strange shit you may believe, and you don't have to be a super progressive SJW ("Social Justice Warrior", aka the progressive version of the conservative knuckle-dragging troll) to call yourself a feminist. If you think gender specifically shouldn't factor in to how much people get paid, the level of respect they're shown, and so forth, then you can call yourself a feminist. It's that simple. The name is misleading, but now you know!

It also doesn't mean you're a pussy, or that you can't be a "gentleman" by showing *gag* chivalry, if that's your thing. You can still be a completely dominant, macho man while being a feminist. Smile

*COUGH* anyway, I wouldn't ever fantasize about that face but I've seen worse. As someone with a pretty ugly face myself, I feel some sympathy for her. But hey, someone liked her enough to knock her up, so there you go!

Akhenaten, I respect ya greatly and always value your thoughts on life in general but, I have to disagree with you on feminism at least in its current form. I used to identify as a feminist myself but, after seeing all the nonsensical "controversies" caused by them and more importantly, learning about what's taught in feminist theory today, I identify now as an egalitarian. It's a movement, that has become very much redundant in the west at least in my opinion anyway.

I think we're on the same page, but there's an issue with the label. Most reasonable feminism has been co-opted by what I'd also call egalitarianism, which is why I'm fine calling myself a feminist. Regardless of the word's vague status right now, I think the real problem is misandry, which is what most people are actually thinking of when they think of belligerent feminism. As a man (i.e. a member of the patriarchy) who's on the equality train, misandry bothers me immensely because it makes me feel like the bad guy for no other reason than because I have a penis.

Google mis·an·dry
/miˈsandrē/
noun
dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e., the male sex).
"her brand of feminism is just poorly disguised misandry"

The usage example, well, exemplifies the problem. Perfectly.
