Actually it looks like a cyber-attack targeting Facebook. All Facebook services are down across the globe after their DNS got knocked out. Apparently even Facebook's internal network is down, including corporate email servers. It seems like someone got inspired by the whistleblower report.

Edit: Facebook released a statement claiming a bad update to their servers caused the problem, but didn't give an further details.
