Sounds like the answer is keeping posting my trickle of vids here and in general put them in Morphs rather than Open Discussion, as I've gotten more renewed response here than there.

And I agree with the caution about these websites. Trust no one, including me. Visit them in a browser with all your usual protections in place. There has already been one deep fake forum that was cryptojacking, aka using JavaScript to Bitcoin mine using your browser. There is another deepfake forum on Voat, which, as a site is a hive of scum and villainy full of links to even worse. And they would welcome that praise.

I'm working on a hardcore one now, but I've had to switch celebs once already in this clip because it was a poor match. I've abandoned two other hardcore vids I thought would work but had terrible face tracking/masking or weird match issues. The software is really sensitive to head position, so too much profile or the dreaded head tilting back can cause jarring errors. These errors can be mitigated with an even larger set of celebs pics at these odd angles, which are hard to get. And with some of the newer GAN software which takess 10x as long and I'm not yet in possession of a cluster loaded with graphics cards. It means that I have been reviewing a bunch of videos looking for very specific things and tossing a whole bunch out as "we're not there yet".

I also agree on Hendricks and Hannigan (mentioned on the other thread). The trick is that you need a faceset library of at minimum several thousand decent res face shots to clone an actor, so people are combing through a variety of footage and isolating that actor's face. There is even custom harvesting software being developed. It is t a shitload of work and so far I have been standing on shoulders of pervy giants and using other people's facesets. But I might take a stab at it yet. I just have to prepare myself because I might want a particular celeb on a particular piece of footage and do hours and hours of work and then not have the match work well enough at all and have to go in another direction.

I think Hendricks and Hannigan are likely to be done by others soon. I may do Eve Myles (Gwen from Torchwood) myself because I'm not sure there are that many fans of the Welsh actor cannon as compared to Mad Men and Buffy.

I'm on a quad core CPU, so maybe 10 hours of extract, 2-3 days of training, once I've got everything right. But in reality there are a bunch of false starts as I discovered vids that don't work or celebs that get close but not quite, so I'm looking at twice that processing time and multiple windows of 30 minutes when I stop, do a convert, and see if I like the way things are going. And I'm using existing celebrity libraries made by other people, which saves me probably a day of heavily manual work.

If I had a real GPU rig or was paying for AWS or Google, I could probably half that processing time (or more if I wanted to give AWS real money for their 16x GPU machines). But for now I'm happy using what I have rather than spending new money.
