Hi All! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here:
Premise
One of my favorite fantasies is the idea of a university where women can go to learn how to be world-class mothers and homemakers. The idea is that students take a core curriculum on topics in Home-Ec, can choose from a couple of majors or certificate programs, and have tuition paid for by acting as surrogates for wealthy benefactors (thus, students are often pregnant). Just about everything on campus has to do with pregnancy and motherhood: the coffee shop uses breastmilk, dorm rooms come equipped with cribs, and births are seen as a celebratory social event among friend groups.
I know there are some stories out there with this premise, but I wanted to take it a step farther. Not only do I have both a pregnancy and housewife fetish, but working at a college for several years made me really want to dive into the world-building and actually make an "official" student handbook. It would include the structure and layout of the university, program and class offerings, aspects of student life, and miscellaneous stuff like logos, mascots, student clubs, etc. From there, short stories about individual students or other written works can be based on this campus. I also want this to be something that seems somewhat realistic - like it could (almost) actually happen in the real world.
This idea is largely inspired by a Tumblr user that made similar posts years ago, but hasn't kept them going for a long time (and Tumblr is just a terrible platform for NSFW blogs now). I don't know which platform would be the official home of this project, but I'm happy to get it off the ground here if enough folks are for it.
Requests
For the most part, I already know which majors and certificate programs I want to include and generally how the academic calendar would work. What I'm asking from you all are two things - one specific, one general:
1. I know I want there to be a core curriculum that all students take (majority of freshman and sophomore years, with majors emphasized junior and senior years). What classes would you recommend for the core curriculum? I already have lots of ideas (cooking, sewing, budgeting, housekeeping, childcare, a year-long freshman seminar called "Your First Baby", etc.). Any and all ideas are welcome!
2. If anyone's interested in any other aspect of this project, I'd love to hear any ideas you have in general!
