This is going to be one of my "Is Mayonnaise an instrument" questions, but CCTV footage. Is that technically considered candid material?
It's a camera. It's on an unsuspecting individual. It's out in public, sort of speak. Genuinely curious.

It’s a bit hard to say. I think it would have to be reliant on where the camera is at. As in what kind of place it’s put whether it’s a grocery store, clothing store, or whatever. If that makes sense.

If a preggophile somehow got his paws on a CCTV DVR that was setup in a public place and mined it for footage of unsuspecting pregnant women said footage could be considered candid because the subject(s) would be unaware that a person who was not authorized to view the footage is doing so.
However, CCTV cameras in public places are not hidden and most people know that when they enter a building they are being recorded. The definition of candid pics/videos is footage that is obtained in secret. The subject(s) must be unaware they are being recorded.
Therefore the answer to CCTV camera footage question is debatable. Footage recorded by a person’s home security surveillance system is closer to being candid especially if the cameras are hidden.

The question has some underlying context to it as well. I agree that it's debatable, that's why I'm curious what category a post involving CCTV footage and/or screen shots would fall under on this site.
