1. Can using a water for belly inflation cause permanent belly expansion and or damage. 
2. Is discomfort bad for the colon?
3. How can I know I’m being safe when doing so.

Honestly I've wondered the same thing. I haven't come across any reliable articles or studies on it yet. There are a few pornstars that do it, like reiinapop, Olivia Patterson, or pumpmeup. Might be worth asking them about it as they would have more practical experience and advice than some random article on google. Considering the many feet of intestines inside you I highly doubt you could inflate them to a bursting point considering the dispersal of pressure. As far as I'm aware it's safe and doesn't cause damage, I've never heard of anyone coming to harm from it. However if using fluids I would strongly recommend using something with an appropriate isotonic level as you do still absorb water through your ass and over hydration would by far be the biggest risk, so using pure water would not be advised. If it's something you're interested in there's no harm from starting small, just make sure you respect your body's limits and don't go rushing yourself, and if it ever starts to hurt that'd be a good indication to stop inflating and try again next time. Don't be afraid to experiment, but do be safe and sensible

I've been doing water and air inflations for years. I wouldn't worry about over hydration unless your holding it in for an extended period of time. Water inflation feels best but I prefer air inflation as its a lot less messy and time consuming. I tend to cramp up pretty quickly so taking it slow is the key to getting your biggest. When it gets uncomfortable stop let some out and allow your body to adjust before continuing on. Its best to have the least amount of "stuff" in your intestines before you inflate to avoid cramping and blockages. Just make sure your equipment is clean and sanitized.
