Which does a better job conveying a pregnancy? I’d say the cast because it’s 3-D

Probably pics, as long as they are hi-def close ups & there's alot of them at different angles.

In my opinion, I'd say pictures. 

Why? Whilst you can't touch it, you're looking at a real belly. Whilst you can touch a cast and get the idea of overall size - it's not the 'real thing'. 

You can't 'touch' pictures, but at least you get a good visualisation of the belly. Size, shape, skin e.t.c...

Definitely the cast. You see total volume and size. Learned it on my wife's first. Also, some women don't look as big as they are from certain angles, so belly cast takes light and shadow out of the equation.

I prefer pics since they usually contain actual pregnant bellies instead of replicas made of plaster. Plus pics can show off naked bodies and are easier to produce.
