Does anyone have any alternatives to Chat GPT or NovelAI?

Chat GPT can be amazing, but is very restrictive when things start getting too... intimate!
NovelAI does not seem to have these restrictions, but takes so much work to write anything good, plus it's paid and obviously not that private.

So, is there anything better than NovelAI at least. Ideally is there an ofline version of Chat GPT that can have it's restrictions removed?

I'd love to hear peoples suggestions? Thank you.

I've been playing with Dreampress.ai. It has free and paid versions. Image generation is NSFW limited, but text is not. You have to have a fair bir of direction with it to get it to produce what you want, but it does a good job of staying on track, especially as the story gets longer. They update pretty consistently, and the updates make it noticeably better. Most of my experience is with the pro version.

I tried that out and it gave me a few lines then told me i had to wait 12 hours. Was i doing it wrong?

I'm not sure. The free version uses tokens, which seems to be relatively common for a lot of AI tools. I t generated a fair bit of text for me when I tried it out, but I moved to pro because I was happy with the way it worked and didn't want to deal with tokens

Oh chatgpt can be very liberal when it comes to writing stories... You just have to trick it little by little. First you go to the edge of intimacy that it accepts, it does accept when a couple goes into bed, for example, but it won't describe what exactly happened explicitely. So you tell it to rewrite the previous paragraph of the story as follows: *insert what you want it to generate* and then click on generate. Make sure it's a long text. I believe a long text confuses it, as it begins to generate before the safeguards even have time to fully scan the text and rate it's explicitness. Seconds after you click on generate, you will see that the prompt you typed in turns red as it violates community guidelines, but chatgpt simply continues generating. It's probably some kind of glitch, idk if it's patched but it worked quite well a few months back.

Character.AI, which is free, is pretty excellent, though it still suffers from the censorship aspect... I will say, though, that you can somewhat finagle your way around it with creative wording. I've heard that it might end up allowing NSFW content at some point (likely with a paywall)... unsure if that's actually going to happen, but I would also posit that a good majority of the users on the site are there to generate custom, smutty conversations with anime girls and celebrities anyways. I would hope that the devs know how their bread is buttered. (And they're not Mormon as far as I'm aware, unlike the AIDungeon guy.)

Currently, it's capable of describing birth, lactation and nudity, and it's pretty good at identifying what itch you're trying to scratch, which is great for maiesiophiles like us. I wouldn't recommend picking out characters from the public search, though... somehow they all seem to be pretty braindead. Try building your own instead, it's surprisingly easy.

I absolutely love NovelAI and use ChatGPT-4 regularly for language practice, but Character.AI, in my opinion, is seriously powerful when it comes to smutty fetish roleplaying and it's super accessible. You can also set it up so that two characters interact with each other, which is something I haven't tried but sounds interesting.

Here's an example of a "Definition" for a character I threw together, something you'll definitely want to use while setting up a character:
