the anaglyph effect isn't too pronounced (still figuring it all out) but it looks ok

Your left and right camera displacement should not exceed 2.5 inches and your camera should be at least 6 feet away from the subject.  I'll try to find the old webpage that explained all this tonight and get back to you.
