(November 17, 2018, 12:47 am)orta03 A 400gig micro sd card would be my gift of choice. I'm looking to carry more of my favorite anime shows offline. Still can't believe we can carry that much space in our phones now. I remember when 64gig sd cards seemed huge. The pace of technological development today is amazing.

Hell, I remember when Zip disks and 128MB USB flash drives were huge.

I saw recently a SanDisk 256GB card on sale for like $40 for Black Friday, but I don’t remember where. Walmart or Best Buy, maybe?

(November 16, 2018, 3:08 pm)TommyDe rumor has it that they are going to move Pokemon from the handheld consoles to the Switch for Gen 8.

It's pretty much confirmed that the 3DS isn't getting anymore mainline Pokemon games and it's all Switch going forward. Also, I picked up the game at launch and have been enjoying it for the most part. My main gripe is that you can't battle wild Pokemon anymore and instead have to rely on the Pokemon Go! mechanic of tossing a Pokeball and/or berry at them. That being said, if you're looking for a competitive Pokemon game, then stay away. Otherwise, casual gamers who want a taste of gen 1 again like myself will have a blast with this game.

P.S The game looks beautiful running at 60fps. Too bad the Switch can only go up to 1080p, BUT I'll take 1080p 60FPS over 4K 30FPS any day.

A) I purposely left it as a Rumor cause others didn't know about that 1Way

B) I know that they are slowly moving the Main Pokemon Videogame Series from Handhelds to the Switch. As of right now we know that the Let's Go Pokemon Games are the current guinea pigs to see how Gen 8 would look on a console like the Switch.

That's so sad to hear about the Let's Go games. I just hope that the Gen 8 Pokemon Games are not like that. Is there anything else that's not Pokemon related that you wish to have?

I was planning on getting a new TV for my bedroom, buy I decided to hold off until my current one finally dies. Which shouldn't be too far considering it's over 6 years old and the buttons on the TV are starting to mess up.

As for video games, I'm trying to get a "new" 3DS despite already having a Switch just so I can pick up Mario Maker and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga again. Also I preordered Smash Ultimate and can't wait for that.

And lastly I just ordered an Anker 20100 mAh powerbank for my devices.

ONE HUNDRED GIGBYTES?!  Wow.  Do the PS4 and Xbox accept third party hard drives?

Zip disks, I remember those!  They seemed like the future of portable storage before the sd card killed it.

Yes both of them do. Just make sure that the drives are at least 256gb and use USB 3.0

When I was in college (mid-2000s) I knew this guy who would carry his fucking USB Zip drive (and its power cord) to every computer lab he used. I sat next to him one day and made sure he could see me pull my 2GB USB thumb drive out of my pocket, plug it straight into the computer, and get right to work. When he couldn't find a place to plug his Zip drive in for power, I asked him why he didn't just buy a thumb drive and ditch the Zip. He shrugged. Whatever, man.

I think USB thumb drives, more than anything, killed off the legacy storage media (floppy, Zip, CDRW, DVDRW). It was a while before SD card readers became a regular fixture on computers and laptops, whereas USB drives worked in literally any computer without an adapter or extra hardware.

Great point.  I forgot about the USB thumb drives.  I had a 4gig one in my college days(around 2006) too.  It's funny that your classmate carried a full zip drive with him.  It's like that one guy who stubbornly stuck with cd players when mp3 players were still big.
