I'm being 100% pedantic here and don't mean to be annoying, but I learned this a while back and like to share. Darwin apparently hated that phrase, as it was a misunderstanding of his preferred phrase, "natural selection." Why? Because fitness has nothing to do with it. Male peacocks are super colorful and bogged down by their feathers. Predator comes, they gon' get eated. That's not very fit. But they're the ones the ladies all wanna fuck -- they're the ones selected by nature.

That's what I explained in my post. The term fitness is like selection. I mentioned that procreation alone denotes whether a species or its individuals are fit/selected. Whoever procreates is selected by nature. The pregnancy has to succeed though. I prefer to use both since fitness does not literally mean strength in the natural sense here. There is physical fitness, sexual fitness, mental fitness, and other types. Fitness just means ability to do something.

Yup, just pointing out that it's a phrase that should generally be phased out because it confuses the issue. Like I said, being pedantic. No argument here or anything.

That's a pretty narrow view. Children are not the point of pregnancy if you don't want children. There's a lot more going on during a pregnancy -- the whole thing doesn't revolve entirely around the end result. Ever heard "it's about the journey, not the destination?"

Narrow does not mean wrong though. Yes there is alot going on BUT pregnancy wouldn't exist if not to produce children.

Sounds an awful lot like "sex is only meant for procreation" -- remember that line? If people enjoy sex for its own sake, then sex has a purpose other than children. If people enjoy pregnancy for its own sake, then pregnancy has a purpose other than children. Pretty straight-forward.

I'd say leave it up to interpretation as to why someone is aroused, supportive, or however they feel about pregnancy as long as it is not cruel or harmful to anyone. Like I said earlier, we should keep this thread more positive and informative for those who don't feel the way you do @PhoenixEdgeworth705 . There's a different thread about tokophobia where this debate is more warranted. This thread should remain to be a resource, not a debate platform.
