It is that time of year again... The Annual Pre-Labor Day Pregnant Bikini Contest. I shlep across the country for this thing and this year did not disappoint... I did forget to tell you all that I would be there again this year, but I also love to run in to fellow "Prego lovers" out on the town.

A couple of things real quick...
1. I will post links directly to Rod Ryan's site.
2. I will again provide play-by-play commentary.
3. I will NOT be posting much original content this time as this event was far more personal to me...
4. ONE OF MY FRIENDS WAS A CONTESTANT!!!

New this year...
There was a hippy-artsy woman there painting bellies!!! We talked for a bit and became FB Friends. She shared some of her work with me... It is cheesy, but I will take it...

So my friend Tamera is originally from OK, but she moved to TX 3 yrs ago for work. I met her at an event, and became a fan of her "work"
   
   
We went out a couple of times but NOTHING serious!
This is from around the time we met... I did not take these:
   
   
   
We lost touch for a couple of years, but about a year ago she popped up as a "Suggested Face Book Friend"
She is with a great guy named Gregg, and we have gotten drinks together whenever I am in town.
   
I was pretty geeked to hear she was expecting, and we have had a ton of conversations about her changing body...
   
   

I also followed her a little closer on FB to watch for pics like these:
   
   

I realized now was my chance and it was time to get things rolling...

I had to get Gregg Aka "Huff" on my side. If he was on board then Tamra would be too. It also helps that there are a ton of prizes in store for the winners...

I casually mentioned it and also posted a link" jokingly" suggesting she should do it. I also did an in-prompt-to maternity shoot, where I continually reinforced how beautiful she was!
               

We had a Fuck-ton of fun and I got to do goofy "cliché maternity" shots too :-)
                   

There was only one major problem... Her due date is Sept. 5th and the contest was Sept 3rd.!!!

I was in trouble. Babies are unpredictable around their due dates and she could be labor before the contest even started!

We planned a surprise baby shower two weeks out and I flew back to TX to "check up" on her and ensure she would still go through with it...

In the end she did not go through with it... wan-wa-aa.

So we just went to the contest instead. It really helps your cause when you have a mom-to-be with you when talking to other mom-to-be(s).
