My friend thinks that people get fetishes because they are recreating some of their earliest sexual experiences. I spent a lot of time playing the Sims as a teen (after having a general interest in pregnancy), so it checks out for me.

I have absolutely no idea. I had no experience with pregnancy until I saw a pregnant chick with a dildo on a tube site and it turned me on so much.

I developed mine through inflation fetishism because I liked belly expansion. So it just evolved into that. I don’t really have inflation fetishism anymore, it just grew out into preggophilia for me.

Similar to the above, really. My earliest memory of this fetish goes way back into childhood when, for whatever reason, I was intrigued by belly expansion/inflation. What I think started it for me is when I have a vivid memory of seeing an old cartoon. I can't even remember what it was about or what it was called, but I remember a specific scene. I remember seeing this particular character suddenly ballooning up around the waist area, to the point of almost bursting. It was quite quick as well - from a flat stomach to being right out there in about two seconds flat.

The pregnancy fetish merely developed from all of that when I got to about 12(ish) years old.

As to why people 'get' fetishes though? I honestly have no idea. I suspect there's something in us from birth, up in our brains. It just takes something to spark it off...and the more we look into it, the more it develops. That's about the best possible explination that I can come up with!

Well, our culture teaches them not to. We're supposed to think they're gross bloated whales, etc... and the majority of us do. Oh well.

Personally, my fetish has always bothered me. I'm turned on by intelligent, interesting, and attractive women.
I've never really been interesting in bond age or submissive, if anything it's a massive turn off when a woman acts submissive in a role play.
On the other hand, what really turns me on about pregnancy is seeing the discomfort and pain in a woman, especially in late term, with the weight and contractions.
I just find it extremely attractive, the more so the better.
Yet it doesn't fit with what otherwise I really go for.
The best guess I have, is that my drive to provide comfort got crosswired with my sex drive.
