Hey folks,

Looks like pregchan is down again. And from the picture that comes up... I'm assuming for good this time. Anybody here know what happened? Or where people went?

Aristocrat's 'Impregnator Kings' was kind of the only thing I looked forward to on a daily basis, and I'm pretty sad that it's gone now. :\

Yeah I checked as well and its gone. My guess on what happened may have to do with those cp spam post that started to appear.

For the sake of keeping updated on it, where can I follow that discussion on devart? I know, I know, no posting of profiles and all that, but I'd like to be able to find out if and when they find a new place for the site- or at least Aristo finds a new place for IK.

Rip Pregchan Cause Of Death SpamBots Sad

Quick googling found these two: http://www.deviantart.com/journal/Pregch...-589087716 and http://www.deviantart.com/journal/Welp-r...-589030851

But not much of a discussion in both comment sections.

Honestly, this doesn't really come entirely as a surprise.

Of course, it's sad, but I sort of expected it with the seemingly unstoppable and extremely disgusting spam. It seemed the admins weren't really able to make it stop, and at some point I'm afraid you can only quit and move on - also to prevent yourself from really getting in trouble.

I personally, and maybe others also, had already stopped visiting Pregchan to avoid the disgusting materials the spambots posted, and it wasn't very active anymore, outside of a few threads. The spambots were not the first issue to plague Pregchan in the last year or so, but it was the final straw. I think the site was already dying, but the spam dealt the final blow.

I think we can safely assume Pregchan is gone for good this time. I don't for a second believe there's a possibility to recover or come back from this. I also think the concept of "open" sites that don't require a log-in/making of an account (preferably with spambot check), like the "chan" concept, to post content should be retired. It's too sensitive to abuse and too dangerous for us a community. I think that sites where members can post content should require log-in/account to post and view at least some of the content, as well as close monitoring of posted content (i.e. in a forum form, like Preggophilia) The only sites with completely public content that I think have a future are sites like the Tumblr blogs, where the owners can completely control the materials posted.

Also: the people who posted the disgusting spam on Pregchan, or made/operate the bots doing so, should be castrated without anaesthesia before being hung from a tree.

The best we can do as a community is learn some lessons from this.

I knew that there was an ongoing discussion about what we could be done against the spam-problem. Were there actually any plans to shut the site down? This all seems to sudden to me.
I initially thought the fuck-you-nicorn had been left by hackers that broke into the server exactly because it came out of nowhere. I last checked in around 01:30 GMT, everything was still working then.

EDIT: I see that there is now more activity in the first deviantart-link. Aristocrat is participating there.
