What are your top complaints about the forum?

My main complaint is that all of the pregnant cam girls listed on the side and bottom of the browser windows have already given birth. Im familiar with many of them and the ones I know gave birth last year.

Hoping to both rez this topic save myself the time I was about to spend typing this for my blog.

....This won't be very long and I hope it's not taken personal. Also ,feel free to ask questions ^_^

First, the Complaints:

1. The Camgirl Sidebars: They seriously need to go. Aside from the reasons stated (All the women have given birth, etc.) it automatically flags the site for certain types of filters. I was able to access Love Pregnant from a hotspot on my laptop but I can't access this site the same way for this reason. There's also the NSFW factor (or in some cases wife/girlfriend/kids) that I know some folks have to be mindful of as well so...yeah. At this point, it's a fair assumption everyone who comes her knows they'll find (free) erotica.

2. No Forum Mods: At this point, I think there should be some and no I'm not volunteering. Mostly for upkeep purposes prettymuch.

3. No Links Page: I can think of no reason there isn't one by now. It feels pretty selfish to me to have sites link to this site but not the other way around.

4. No Off-Topic/Chat Board: I feel very strongly about this for the simple fact it gives people a chance to get to know each other and makes folks want to be here a bit more.

5. Hard cap of 10 posts per page in topics: I would like this to be either adjustable or increased to at least 25. It will make browsing threads with alot of pictures much faster.

Now the Good:

1. Google Drive: Easily the main reason folks keep coming back. It ensures nothing is permanently lost. If only Pregchan. Love Pregnant, Show Me The Belly and Pregnancy Community thought of this XD

2. Stories Forum: I love it personally. No new story content has been posted in a few weeks though. Too many people are waiting for someone else to post something I guess, I've wanted to post something there but won't bother if it doesn't seem active. There's also the fact only stories with Erotica seem to get any attention >.>;

Other Stuff:

1. I think it would be helpful if folks could distinguish who contributes content and who doesn't much more easily. Maybe revamp the Reputation system for this purpose>

2. I have noticed Signatures seem to be disabled. Many of us are connected to other pregnancy sites and communities. If not a links page then at least give us thr ability to make a signature with Linking enabled.

3. Getting back to my Cam Girl Comment from above: Regularly update things to reflect who's popped and new cam girls found, etc.

5. Stickied Mega Threads would be handy in cases where isn't enough traffic for a new forum. For example the Google Drive Thread and threads on specific topics (Bikinis, specific celebs, etc.).

6. Finally: I would like to see a forum for Pregnancy in TV and Movies (and also music videos, commercials and everything in between). Yes, a forum. Show Me the Belly and The Belly Zone dedicated themselves to the task yet it proved to be too much work for one person to do in both cases (yes I know TBZ is still around but it isn't updated much). At least here it's a COMMUNITY working together and I have no doubt if a forum's made, it will be very active and people from all over the world will share content.

7. Going with #6: I get the copyright concern you might have but we've already crossed that line in regards to sharing content from subscription sites so...yeah. This just seems like the next logical step.

Hi Victor -- thanks for the feedback. I should start by saying that a new version of the site is being developed (on XenForo) and many established shortcomings will be fixed.

I visited your site and read some of your thoughts. As has been outlined before, careful attention is paid to potentially illegal content. It should be easier to be discriminate between hard/soft content with our upcoming tag-based system.

Here are some counterpoints and ideas on the points you've made:

1. The advertisements will be integrated in a more seamless manner on the new script, with a proper management system, and might be complimented by a directory. As we receive lots queries from prospective webcam girls, they might participate on the site in a more direct way. Preggophilia is clearly NSFW even without advertising.

2. Greater help with moderating the sub-forums for proper content, spam and bumping old threads will probably be needed soon.

3. Link pages are old-fashioned and generally frowned upon by Google and other search engines. We prefer organic linking within threads over "link trading" -- I can assure you that the sites linking to us receive traffic, directly and indirectly through search results. Active links in signatures have been abused in the past and would also be detrimental in ranking the site. Currently, 50% of traffic is derived from search engines and around 40% is direct, type-in traffic.

4. "Open Discussion" was intended to be open to all discussions, however it is decidedly pregnancy-oriented.

I'd be happy to encourage posts on other subjects, but I suspect most visitors are here for one reason: pregnancy. Better sites exist for other topics, but again, this isn't something I oppose. I wouldn't know how to facilitate discussions on other subjects and a sub-forum already exists for that purpose.

Chat is something I decided against a while ago, mainly because it's difficult to monitor and not useful for sharing content. We'll see how the social features (all optional -- proper PM system, alerts, friends, etc) on the new script function first.

5. Posts per page can be adjusted through Profile > Edit Options. Again, customization will be much simpler in the new framework.

Thanks for noticing the stories section -- it's an under-appreciated area of the forum. The lack of content is attributable to most people being unable or uninterested in writing stories, preferring instead to read the contributions of others. To illustrate this point: I enjoy some fiction (non-pregnancy), but I don't pretend to be writer and this isn't an aspiration of mine.

1. Major recognition and perks will be given to contributors (current and future) within the new forum.

2. Active links are abused. It's possible to push traffic to one's site with text if the signature accompanies good posts.

3. Updates are needed more frequently -- agreed. An easier management system will be available within the new script. Names of old webcam girls attract a fair amount of search engine traffic, but I would like to remove these advertisements from rotation and place them in a centralized directory (with links to content). Right now, we have a tiered system to preserve old names (at the bottom) and relatively new names (at the top).

4. I've just stickied the drive thread.

5. I like what the Belly Zone does and would prefer not to impinge on their site. We do have a popular celebrities section. I'd like to see the content you're suggesting spread between "Open Discussion" and "Pregnant Celebrities". Perhaps a thread might be appropriate to start with?

Most of these suggestions are reasonable, but at this stage effort is being made to simply keep the site running while developing its replacement. Many of your ideas, in one form or another, will likely be incorporated or made unnecessary by the proprietary script.

...You mentioned a new interface coming down the pipe a few times so I'll tell you not to make the same mistake I did a few years back and keep folks waiting. Otherwise folks will get tired of waiting and not bother coming aorund when the new content arrives. Basically what I did was talk about new content and kept folks waiting for several months. The wait was due to circumstances beyond my control but it sitll didn't change the fact I made promises and didn't keep them when I said I would.

I would advocate for Link Trading as it's much more organic than relyiing on Ranking Sites and Search Engines. I used to run a website (my own paid domain) until a few years ago. I'd know. Relying on Ranking sites and Search Engines for traffic is detrimental as it encourages spamming and botting. See Bastion Works' forum for a textbook example of that. I found Preggophilia from a link on The Belly Zone so...yeah. Word of mouth is the best way to get the word out. Stormr can give you some great ideas on that.

A thread or two to start sound like a good way to gauge interest.

sometimes, this site takes a long time to use (loading times have increased significantly on some days based upon my ping test!). there was even one day when the site was down! please ensure reliability!

The site is indeed slow, sometimes unbearably. Traffic has increased by about 25% over the past few months and server resources are almost always fully utilized. As things stand, MyBB is our forum framework and it cannot support > 80,000 attachments. This will be addressed by migrating XenForo, however things are taking longer than planned.

The aim is to have a functional test site for certain users to experiment with by February.

well, ever since the site got redesigned, it seems to be less secure than it was previously. I'm assuming that if the site had so many spambots on it, then it could also have been included in google's search database, and that's starting to become a victim of its own success because anything posted on here can be easily found by anyone... even camgirls (who end up telling us that we can't share content anymore)... If we can't discuss former camgirls anymore, then how would we be able to discover new ones? I for one simply just don't really like how that has turned out. I used to check up daily on the site, but now, I'm only here like 1-2 times a week because of it.

Hey Pat -- what you've noticed is probably just a coincidence. A few minor cosmetic changes were made that coincided with the registration of a vocal model-related account.

This doesn't happen often, but when it does we're in a bind.
