The Victorians were incredibly horny. The weird cultural hang-ups around sex didn't mean they weren't massively, massively into it - it was a lot more about portraying it because they thought people were banging so much that encouraging more of it was a bad idea.

Okay I cant sit here an pretend I dont have some weird tastes. But I hafta draw the line at women who have probably been dead for near a century. I doubt many of those kids are even alive at this point.

We have a massively distorted view of the Victorians. I believe the book 'Inventing the Victorians' looked at how similar the Victorians were to the late 20th century. The Georgian/Regency Age was probably even more wild than the Victorians. Anglo-American society has probably been getting more conservative and repressive as we got closer to the turn of the 20th century. Most generations look back to the previous generation as being more uptight and conservative as their own.
