The Species 2 scene is really great, even though the main girl who expands dies after the process. I did not include the bursting later on.All you have to know about is once her stomach has distended completely, it splits open like a flower and reveals a blood-covered infant/alien hybrid emerging from her.

Debutante/Lindsey examines herself and begins to notice that something is wrong

       

She physically examines her breast/belly as the alien/hybrids gestation begins to accelerate.

   

Debutante/Lindsey clutches her belly in pain

   

Debutante/Lindsey supports herself on the bathroom sink and rubs her belly, breathing heavily as the alien/hybrid's growth accelerates.

   

Her belly starts to swell with her and Patrick's hybrid child. And if you look at the way her belly starts to expand, you can see her navel push outward a little.

   

Debutante/Lindsey screams at her sudden pregnancy

   

Belly gets more and more pronounced. It won't stop until it's born.

       

Debutante backs away from the mirror in horror. Notice the continued swelling of her belly from above.

       

Unable to vacate the bathroom, she falls against the wall.

   

Falling to the floor, the birth is inevitable.

   

She screams...And screams...And feels she's going to burst open.

           

On a side note, I love when she knocks over the potted planet in this scene,but I can't help but think that it was her belly that did it since she got so massive. I only wish that they would have showed her belly button popping out clearly.

I always assumed she was simply checking out her body in the bathroom, not quite noticing that something was wrong until the stomach pain begins. I think I have this scene to blame for my fetish, I think I was about 8 when I first watched it. My parents thought I wouldn't remember it...lolnope. It's the way the expansion is so detailed, coupled with her reaction that makes me love it so much. Multiple movies have released since Species 2, showing similar expansions, but something always brings me back to this movie...hell, this scene in particular. And it never fails to both excite and arouse me each and every time. I sometimes wish the scene could be redone to add a little something more to it, but perhaps it's right just the way it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and all that good stuff.

This woman seems to have the most comments out of all the characters in any of the 'Species' films.

The extra detail given of her expansion including a feeling of nausea, some stomach pain, sweating, rapid distension of the stomach as the unborn hybrid fetus develops quickly, belly bursting, and eventually death adds very much to this scene to all of the various other scenes (such as the "Class of Nuke Em' High) that came before it. If there was an expansion scene that was close in tone to this one, it would be the scene from "Warlock 2."

The greatest thing about this scene is the great mix between the subtle CGI and well put together practical effects. I believe the actress wore a latex belly mold that was made to take on air. Better than the usual tent dress expansion we see nowadays.

Nancy La Scala is a definite fox and her belly expansion ranks as an 9 in this film.

I wouldn't as much change the scene but add more scenes just like it in the film. For instance, the second belly expansion in the film (that happened to Anne after riding her husband) would've been better if the actress just gurgled and bloated up perversely (something about a skinny girl fattening up with a belly, pregnant or not, is a definite turn-on) to the point of the alien carrying gut violently ripping through her nightgown. Easily changing something that was horrifying into something a bit easier to swallow.

   

This scene feels very similar to the birth scene in "Body Melt."

All in all, this movie comes down once again to "Ride a potent cock, what do you expect?

Too bad there's no good pictures at all around online what so ever = frame per frame of showing it that we could put up showing it at that moment to moment of interest, and the videos are hardly next to none existent, nor worth the seconds...

Actresses I would've loved to see in this scene.

The potential use of a real pregnant woman/actress, some clothes that can be easily tugged apart, a practical latex belly potentially for some closeups of movement/gurgles, and CGI could've also maybe done wonders.

It doesn't possess to think "Hey, I'm ripping through this wall of flesh!" instead of just sliding out where the nearest exit is. The path of least resistance is the same way it's papa got in. Which is not that way!

I'm guess I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't really mind the pregnant woman in question suffering a particularly painful and gory demise at the hands of something magical, apocalyptic, or extraterrestrial; mind you I'm not a cine masochist. I guess I've seen enough pregnancies in movies (Ever notice the worse movies have the best pregnancy moments?) to know what to expect whether the film is a cheesy romantic comedy or a cheesy B-Z grade horror/sci-fi flick. The easiest thing to expect here is pretty obvious; the pregnant character was going to die. To be completely honest she got off easy compared to Anne and some of the other “sexpots” in the film who were unknowingly impregnated.

“In a nutshell, given that this is a Sci-fi/Horror flick with extreme circumstances, a number of characters are going to die, including vulnerable ones that have been impregnated or are already pregnant.”

Even if this was a realistic violently executed, normal birth with the inconvenience of something crazy being the cause of the pregnancy I still don’t think the main girl would’ve survived; for instance “Warlock 2”. Even if she would’ve made it past the birth, the ‘father’ would’ve killed her for not only the obvious reason of covering plot holes, but for the reason that she just witnessed giving birth to a human-alien hybrid that came out of her own body.

So far “Species 2” is the only film I’ve noticed that has had multiple bursting moments culminating in the death of the women. Not every time, we’re going to get a happy ending. Even though that's kind of a sad thing, the best of both worlds, a great pregnancy/belly expansion and maybe some icky stuff, is what we're going to have to deal with for now. After Jane The Virgin, Mad Max (even though that character dies as well), Game Of Thrones, and The Leftovers just to name a few, I'm sure there's some good stuff coming in the future that gives these scenes and the movies their in what they truly need; balance.

Part of the whole pleasure for me is watching them survive the birth and become warn out and at least see the baby/monster/mutant/etc.

The best pregnancy scene in my view has always been The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007) where the woman was kidnapped by the mutants and held captive for 9 months being under the lead Papa Hades full custody. I like a nice, long pregnancy where the mutant baby had been developing inside her stomach for some time instead of a rapid pregnancy.

Although I'd prefer if these women more often survived these experiences entirely, I'd at least be more satisfied knowing they went through with it and died from other circumstances unrelated like being murdered.
