So there has been an obvious problem of people who can't help but break the "look but not touch" rule.

I think that if we could create a software solution that uses something like wget to download pages, but keep them private until after the girl pops...

I guess the user flow would look like this, they paste a URL of a girl. The site will automatically download the content and mark it as "private". Only the user can see it at this point. After a year, or as soon as the user decides, the content would become open to the rest of the forum. The user could 'follow' a list of URLs, track changes and be notified of new content. His 'user list' would remain private.

Ideally, when published, the media wouldn't lead back to the origins. This would keep guys from stalking youtube pages - since this will do the "private" stalking themselves.

That being said, we'd all have to agree to use this solution - one way to circumvent the system would render the whole thing useless.

It's a quick and rough idea... what does anyone else have?

Is there a simpler explanation for this? It sounds good, but I don't quite know *exactly* what's being proposed.

I propose a new site (or feature to an existing site) which downloads content and acts as a barrier between YouTube (and the girls) and us.

I can't think of anything better unless we can all just agree to play nice. It may be one of those 'unsolvable' problems.

It would be challenging to implement a system whereby MP4 or FLV files are fetched from YouTube automatically (to insulate viewers from girls) when a user links to or embeds a YouTube video on this site. Even if such a system were in place, motivated viewers could rely on cues within a video to attempt to track down the YouTube identity of a particular girl.

I understand the aim, but I'm not sure if it's feasible from a technical standpoint. There's also the larger issue of cooperation among users. The simplest solution (but nonetheless inconvenient) would be this:

If you come across a promising pregnancy log on YouTube, don't share any direct links or a username. Use FlashGot (or a similar plug-in for Firefox or Chrome) and download the content to your hard drive. Upload the content to a file hosting service or even back on YouTube or DailyMotion and then link to it whilst withholding the identity of the original publisher.

I'm going to look into inactivating YouTube links (people could still share links, but one would have to copy and paste); this would at least address the issue of referrals from this site, but not creepy comments.

I definitely agree it's a really hard problem to solve and it would be 10 fold easier if people just weren't creeps.

But making it harder to link directly to videos is a step forward, I suppose.
