I'm working alongside a woman who is in her late 20s and going through her first pregnancy. She's a skinny sweet little white woman who married a guy who was a literal giant so she's showing very out front and large even for almost 28 weeks. She's very prominently showing, the rest of her body has also endearingly softened, and her bump is large and in charge.
And yet she still hasn't rubbed her belly. Not once. I haven't seen her touch it, hold it, acknowledge it.
And, perhaps the strangest part to me, is that I find it kinda hot.
Imagine a very skinny white chick with a big pregnant belly way out front with her back arched and her arms just perfectly straight at her sides. It's not really that she's avoiding the pregnancy or anything out of contempt for it, but it's still a fascinating little quirk I've never seen anyone who was pregnant have. The idea of so consciously choosing to acknowledge that which is obvious is just somewhat intriguing.
