My issue was with calling people hoodrats, especially when they're already being sexualized. If you want a thread for black pregnant women, that's fine, but call it that. If you want a thread for pregnant women in urban areas (which only one of the women in the pictures shown was actually in) then that's fine. But we all know about slang and codes and we know what it means in society to call people "hood" or "ghetto." If we can keep that kind of terminology out of the community, I think we should, but shit I don't run this forum and I didn't create this thread so my power ends there. I just wanted my voice out there.

I think if you had just said that^ a lot could have been avoided. Because that's quite agreeable. Being offensive is is the privilege we all have; as well as expressing feelings of being offended. But when one tells another they are more justified than another, you take that privilege away from someone else.


You know though... you could have written him privately, simply said Hey man check your messages... and you would have had more chance of getting the outcome you wanted; because even after this debate/social discussion... the title is still offensive to you.

On a more personal note, as comedian Steve Hughes says... Nothing happens when you're offended. You don't wake up the next day with leprosy.

Wow, this thread took a turn. Which is too bad, because like original poster, heysexy, I too am a big fan of this subgenre of pregnant girls. But I'd like to point out that I believe that "hoodrats", "ratchet girls", "ghetto girls" - or whatever else you may choose to call them - can be any size, shape or color (see exhibits below).

Let me plead my case -

As per the urban dictionary, a hoodrat is:
1.A girl who sleeps with various men in the neighborhood. Usually noticeable via her slacking standards of personal care.
2. A person who partakes in scandalous activity in order to achieve a goal or bad image. Some of the activities may be classified as illegal.
3.A ghetto ass girl who hangs out with all the ghetto guys and thinks it's cute to be a slut.
4. hood rat: A straight slut from the hood.. the kind or girl that has probablly slept with you and four of your best homies... Usually lazy as hell ..they are known to party a lot.. easy to take advantage of.

There's about a dozen more, but you get the picture. No explicit mention of race, for the most part.

So the way I see it, being a hoodrat has nothing to do with color... a "hoodrat" to me is a general term for anyone who carries herself with a certain ghetto look, attitude and sluttiness to her, which is probably why it's such a turnon for some of us. So I don't think heysexy was wrong in making this thread and titling it what he did. As for the suggestion of him just making a thread about "black girls," hopefully some of the pics below will help demonstrate why "hoodrats" is a turn on in a way that isn't just about skin color. So let's keep this thread alive, and let's do it for equal rights for all

I agree, ShotGlass, with everything you said. The point I was trying to make is people should not jump to conclusions and make accusations so quickly (Especially if you label someone while telling them not to label people). I mean... dehumanizing terms based on existing oppression? That sure escalated quickly.

On a related note, I don't suppose there's more to be found of the girl in black, flipping the bird?
