These are some pieces inspired by pregnancy. The first one is acrylic on canvas, 91.5cm x 122cm. The others are oil pastels on A3 black card.
I'd love to do more large preggo themed pieces. I have a concept based off a dream I had, where a preggo lass is grinding her belly on the hood of a car (POV from inside the car).
I live at my parents' presently, because a job contract wrapped up and Covid (classic), so all my artwork (including non pregnant content) gets the ol "What's this one about?" from my parents. I did notice after doing the acrylic painting that question was asked with more concern and inquiry than usual. Mama was digging for answers she doesn't want to hear. Haha.
Pastels are easier to do. I'm still pretty new to them, but I can tuck them away in a folder and hide them in a corner. They're not as satisfying to do as my big acrylics though.
Just felt like sharing. Tell me what you think.
