When I have spare time on my hands I enjoy going out on a stroll around town. Sometimes I come across pregnant ladies and I ask them if I could take some pictures of their bellies. Normally they decline and I continue with my walk. But some actually accept, so I proceed on taking some snapshots.

I started doing this ever since I was interested in girls. I would ask permission to my crushes to take pictures of them. I would save them in albums and in floppy discs. But then my collection was completely destroyed in a fire. Now I'm building my collection from scratch, but this time even bigger and with better quality.

I casually ask if they would like to help me with my collection of pregnant bellies. When they ask why I tell them that it's my hobby. I am actually a bit of a photography aficionado, particularly landscapes and cityscapes. Normally my pictures aren't as good as I would like because of the lack of a proper camera (I use my cellphone) but when I did had a better camera I would go around town taking pictures of random stuff, sometimes even pregnant bellies.

Here's an interesting story:

I was walking around downtown and I saw two girls talking in sign language. One of them was pregnant. I signed hi and had a bit of small talk (my sign language is a bit rusty). It's quite rare to find someone to practice with. They then introduced themselves: Iris, 23, mute, single and in her 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I forgot the name of the other girl, but lets call her Dana. After using all of my sign language vocabulary, Dana became the interpreter. I then told them about my hobby and asked for a few snapshots. They gladly accepted. Iris was a bit flattered because nobody really payed attention to her belly, witch she was growing fond of. I took a few pix and just about when I was going to bid them farewell, Dana asks me if I could go to her place to give her some prints of the photos to her and if I to take some more pictures of Iris and another pregnant friend of hers. I agreed and so we exchanged contact info.

I arrived to her place. It was a humble home but good enough to raise a family. They greeted me and introduced me to the family. It was a nice family, very united. They even invited me to eat lunch with them! It was nice. After eating we proceeded to take the photos. At first they where a bit shy, but they eventually showed their bare bellies!

That happened in 2010. Now they're out of town and I haven't heard form them.

The key is in how you say things, not on what you say. Like my language teachers used to say: "Communication is only 7% verbal and 93% non-verbal." (Here's an interesting article about it.)

Try to project a friendly and welcoming persona. Avoid being creepy or threatening. Your hygiene and manners are also very important.

It's kinda like being a salesman, your trying to convince someone into doing something for you.

Another very important thing is to keep it civil. NO CREEPY STALKY or anything like that. And also avoid getting too personal. Someone might get hurt; Or even worse, with a lawsuit.
