In my opinion, it is a conflict of interest to create a thread in a forum and tell people they can't comment without posting content. Why take away people's option to simply leave feedback? this makes no sense. As long as the comments are in line with the thread topic and related content they should be allowed. Setting illogical rules is only going to result in people ignoring you and given your history on this site, many already have.

Yours - especially yours - and no one else's opinion matters though, so I don't want it. If I created a thread and respectfully asked for no comments unless a criteria is met then so be it. Why is that so hard? Most of the time the comments are people begging for more without posting or taking their time to capture something. Or they aren't posting thread-matching content or just saying how nice they are. I know they're nice, that's why i captured and posted it! And I don't care if people ignore me, the fact of the matter is its the content that everyone wants. People can't resist; the biggest bellies always ALWAYS gets the most likes and comments.

Why did you start this thread then? Opening a thread is to bring forth a topic, with it being common courtesy to let OP guide the discussion. Nobody "owns" threads except for the admin. If you think a post is truly off-topic then report it to a mod as such. This isn't your personal blog. I think posting on a Twitter account with replies disabled might be a better fit for you.

If you truly don't want people getting all up in your shit, start a blog or Tumblr, post to it, and disallow comments. It sounds like that's what you want. Do that. But don't post in a forum and tell other people how they're supposed to post in your thread. I get what you're saying, but... you're wrong. Step back a bit and see the big picture. But it is a forum remember?! Like everyone has been telling me, if you don't like it, don't say anything...go away. Fortunately for us, the admin is not a dictator and allows us our freedom of speech, so it is my thread as long as I was respectful. You guys got offended and responded, I didn't ask anything.
