The thing I find funny is that if we were a site that was about how disgusting pregnant women are, the SAME people chastising us would be telling us how beautiful and sexy they are.

(July 2, 2016, 12:31 pm)knicks I rarely come to this forum but did (obviously) and noticed this thread. In general people are made uncomfortable by things they don't understand. The woman in question I don't believe necessarily did it for attention, although that could very well be why she did, I would guess that it stems from the hard evidence that she knows people are masturbating, gaining sexual arousal, etc. from her picture(s). It would be interesting to ask her how is that different from people masturbating to the other pictures she posts online that don't end up on forums thus instances she's unaware of, or a male friend thinking about her during sex with his partner, etc.

With regards to the "creepers" that lurk among us, a small population of individuals with sexual paraphilias experience intense shame, distress, anxiety, guilt, etc. over their sexual fantasy. In this instance we all have a partialism-technically the term "fetish" is reserved only for sexual arousal at inanimate objects, "partialism" is basically a fetish but for human body parts-and shame, distress, anxiety, guilt, etc. experienced as a result of not acting out one's fetish would be considered a paraphilic disorder. The good news, the majority of us with these sexual fantasies that do not experience any of these negative symptoms nor has acted out on it, it is absolutely NOT considered a disorder by the mental health community.

So these individuals who are compelled to reach out to these poor women in an attempt to live these fantasies are those among us with a "paraphilic disorder", but as far as what we can do? Not much, I wouldn't think. Educating the public about the difference between a paraphilia and paraphilic disorder? Perhaps, but I don't know how impactful that would be. Besides we're all here for one reason, and that reason is not to be social advocates haha.

Just my instant reaction to the whole thing. My source: 6 years of studying psychology at the undergraduate & graduate level.

Where's the line between trying to live out your fantasy and having a "paraphilic disorder"? i.e. Do people who seek sex with pregnant prostitutes have a paraphilic disorder?

That's a great question. Sexuality is arguably the most complex facet of the human experience in terms of drawing that metaphorical line in the sand between "normal" and "abnormal". Let me attempt to answer that question with a similar paraphilia, sexual masochism & sexual sadism. While both are still officially listed in the diagnostic & statistical manual for mental disorders (DSM) there is a lot of criticism about their inclusion because most people who engage in those acts do so consensually without it resulting in any stress, anxiety, guilt, etc. and there is a belief that both of those are in there for moral reasons not scientific reasons (a whole other topic of conversation). It would be inappropriate to diagnose someone with either disorder if they are engaging in those acts consensually and without any distress/shame in doing so. Based off of that, my best educated guess is that it would be inappropriate to diagnose someone with a paraphilic disorder if the sexual act they are engaging in is honestly consensual and there isn't any accompanying distress/shame.

Went to school for psychology/psychiatry.

TO be considered a disorder, the paraphilia must persist for longer than two months, IIRC though it might be 6, be a consuming desire or thought process to the point of obsession/compulsion, and must interfere with daily life for two weeks or more. Interfering with daily life means failing to go in to work, failing classes if still a student due to the paraphilia, forgetting to eat, getting oneself into trouble with authority or law enforcement, forgetting to bathe and maintain hygiene, etc.

That's according to the US APA (combined American Psychiatric/Psychological Association) DSM criteria. I have the DSM IV, the DSM V was published in 2013 and I havent had a chance to buy it yet ($95 for a softcover book, $130 for the hardcover) so I do not know if the definitions of praphilic disorder have changed with more current research.

I get it, and I am glad we did take it down, but I am also now curious as to what she looked like. She took her IG account offline, and only has very limited pics of both pregnancies on FB.
