The background recorders (such as XSCamera) equally allow you to use any app, so can still type and scroll. You can alternate between casually holding, and doing something on it that appears you're distracted while the phone is in their direction.

Likely easier if one of your phone's cameras is wider angle, less work to orientate it correctly without it becoming obvious what you're up to....or missing the shot entirely.

You need to realize that you are a person just like her… you just install some background recording app and just walk around her holding phone like you are not using it or pretending to make a call, simple.
Even if you talk to them ITS NOTHING WEIRD. You just ask for some directions or whatever and then congratulate etc.

your tricks are useful and I tried them this morning, something well done came out but in any case the girl I was secretly following realized that I was following her, maybe I shouldn't have waited outside the bar and the pharmacy. but I'm happy with the result. Apart from that a policeman stopped me and she told me that one of the two told him that I was following them. but I'm so good at talking that she sent me away with a, "mh, you're fine, you seem like a good man, have a good day". to shit

Just some advice if you've had the cops pulled up on you, you've more than likely overstepped. Obviously taking pictures of people without their consent is already questionable but if you're making them uncomfortable enough they've got a policemen you've gone too far. Just my opinion, but yeah definitely need a balance between the advice given above and common sense to not come off like a creep.

That's fine, just make sure you do. At the end of the day we all appreciate the pregnant form and the last thing we want is to creep them out That being said yeah, the newer photos/videos are better than your first few attempts, so good job in that regard! Being able to get those quality candids without the uncomfy factor is the challenging part.

Thank you, next time I'll try to talk to one of them maybe so I have an excuse, holding my cell phone in my hand without letting them see me taking pictures or recording.

I don’t why this is harder than it needs to be. Everyone has different tactics and ways of getting their candids, you said you were a beginner but play around with your camera first and get the hang of it and try different methods whether it be a different phone case, the clothes you were and your body language, I’ve been taking candids since I was 16 and in those early years I had a ton of blurred pictures and out of focus ones. If you look at my thread you can see the crazy angles I pulled off and the experiences I’ve had with some. My advice to you is:
Pick your battles wisely:know who you should snap up close or at a distance, same goes with talking to some.
Know when to stop: if you hover around or follow them in quick succession to the point that you make eye contact everytime they move or they start looking at you.
Control your body language: even I have trouble with that, I sweat sometimes, turn red or my pupils expand. Being in a good state of mind helps especially if you approach them.
Lastly be self aware: remember you’re a person in a public place and you can look out of place if you’re not buying anything, you’re creeping around or you’re holding your equipment at a weird angle, I have tons of blooper pics that I delete of bystanders, boyfriends , husbands looking at my phone and not the pregnant chick just because they might find my hand placement weird or I look off or out of place.
